Dr. Garde has been appointed as Preceptor in the Fourth-Year Preceptorship Program of the U.W. School of Medicine and Public Health, in the Department of Academic Affairs.

Dr. Garde is a Board Certified general surgeon with special interest in vascular surgery. He is also the Liaison at Riverview Hospital appointed to the American College of Surgeons’ Cancer committee. He is responsible for overseeing quality surgical cancer care at Riverview Hospital as set by the American College of Surgeons.

Biography

Dr. Garde is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has a special interest in vascular and thoracic surgery.

Dr. Garde received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI. He completed his internship in surgery at the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, OH and completed his surgical residency at Maine Medical Center, Portland, ME.

He is a member of the following Organizations:

• American College of Surgeons
• Wisconsin State Surgical Society.

He is the Cancer Liaison of the American College of Surgeons for the University of Wisconsin Cancer Center (UWCC) at Riverview Hospital.

Dr. Garde is certified by the American Board of Surgery (1993).
